The CMS certificate is a course to help people grow in their confidence and gifts as a pioneer. Its run over the course of a year usually and includes 6 weekend modules on subjects such as ‘Pioneer mission’, ‘The Bible in Context’ and ‘Pioneer Church’. It’s a course that places you as a students in a learning community of other pioneers as you learn, pray and grow together.

Here are just a few comments from those who came on the course recently:

“It has made me feel more confident to move forward in our church and to stand up and do this, and given me more respect from others too.”

“I feel now I am not the only odd one! Journeying with other pioneers has made me feel like I belong.”

People who have completed the course have gone on to develop pioneer ministry in a variety of ways such as; Campfire Church, a local outdoor expression of church; a ministry to Spanish speakers in the Poole/Bournemouth/Christchurch area; connecting with the environmental movement of a market town.

The course is open to people from any denomination. Those in the Diocese of Salisbury can use the course as a pathway to becoming a Commissioned Lay Pioneer.
